This was about 1956.
I don't recall my father being sick, he probably figured this would be as good a place as any for me to start working.

This date was played in 1956 and I don't recall my dad being sick.
He simply decided it was time I went to work, while my mother styled the act the Colonel was outside the ring yelling:
"No! No! No! Buckles! Can't you remember anything?"
