Spunky #3

Spunky-3, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. After the fisherman is lost at sea, Spunky has to be sold to help pay his debts. Transported by ship to Great Britain, he ends up working (and living) in a coal mine. There, he encounters an unsavory character named “Squinty” Mike Malone, who is a little too handy with a whip. Spunky is rescued when the mine’s owner, while making an inspection visit, catches Malone abusing the pony and fires him on the spot. The owner then has Spunky taken out of the mine and turned over to his head trainer for schooling.
