She was a wonderful lady, one who gave of herself and her talents long after she left the ring. ~frank
Steve Gossard once identified the catcher on this poster for me as Everett White. The man in the middle of course is Arthur M Concello himself.
How can you do a 2-1/2 to a hand-to-hand catch??? It would be caught hand-to-legs. And I don't imagine the half is a half twist. The copy should have read differently even back then!

I had the same image in my head, if she were holding the fly bar, then she would have had to do a double, or a triple to the hands of the catcher. Unless she started with her hands on the bar, flipped upside down and then released. Maybe it was purposely worded this way to make you think! ~frank
Dick,
I know you have read Roland Butler's tales, so you know as well as I do, that you can do any damn thing you want to. John Milton told me you could even make up name's of animal breed's if you wanted to. Lighten up.

I know this is off topic but wanted to let everyone know that Harriet (Albina) Beatty Say (Clyde and Harriet Beatty's daughter) passed away 12/20/2010. Please see her memorial tribute for more information.

The portrayal shows the lady thrown from a "catcher--flyer" to the "catcher," so perhaps the act started with a "leg hold" and finished with a hand to hand catch. Either Steve Gossard or one of the stellar trapeze panel members present at the Bloomington, IL CHS meeting this past July ought to be able to comment on the viability of such an act. They commented upon other rare turns during their discussions and Q&A period.
