I am sure Walt Disney was proud of such a fine show. From every aspect it was a top notch affair. The acts the best and it was all circus.Breathtakingly beautiful on the lot.Looks like no expense was spared in creating something that was pure magic.Oh to see a show of that caliber in these days!!
William -
Walt Disney LOVED the circus! It reminded him of his boyhood days. Unfortunately, people who went to Disneyland weren't going there to see a circus, no matter how fine it was. The show closed shortly after opening.
One of his other loves was in model trains, or rather miniature trains that he could ride and take friends and family for rides around his property.

Was this Big Top lined with double canvas ? The photo of the exterior shows a solid white canvas while the interior is red & white striped.
Frank, It was a successful run with capacity biz. and all acts were contracted for the exact starting and closing date during the holiday season. Except Prof. Kellar. He had a six month contract that continued on with him in a different location and setting. The Mouseketeers would not have been able to continue on with the TV show, circus and other activities and this was understood from the beginning and hence for only the holiday seadon. Someone commented recently that we only did one perf. daily. Not true. We did two and even three. Mousketeers each had five day weeks so were alternate for days off. For the first year or so the park was black on Mondays, but that was changed when they realized they could operate seven days. This was the first major "theme park" and it had adjustable growing pains that were soon resolved. John H.
I found an old clipping of the opening & the show times were: 1, 3:30 & 7pm each weekday & noon, 2:30 & 5pm on weekends & holidays. I'll try to find someone to scan & email a copy to you. Kandra

The above link is the TV commercial for the 1986 Circus Fantasy (RBBB) at Disney Land.
John - I do not disagree with you, because you were there. From what I have read, Walt wanted the circus to be a permanent part of Disneyland and that never happened. I would have loved to have seen this show, because from all reports, it was High Class all the way. ~frank
...yep, I just can't see present-day "imagineers" tolerating mud on their boots!

If you go to google and put in Mickey Mouse Club Circus, then look for Mickey Mouse Club Circus a look back theres a very good but short video of the circus in color.
On the same google page there is a listing for original Mickey Mouse Club Circus Memorial.Great site which shows the 25 cent souvinir program that was sold.
Found a great site www.davelandweb.com/mmcc that has lots of photos including those featured here about the show.Might be of interest to readers.
The top HAL inquires of, after the January '56 closing of the circus, became for a time the top for Holiday Land.
