It's good to see Les Amadori remembered here. Think back to the scene in TRAPEZE where Tino Orsini (Tony Curtis) is in the bar, pointing out the photos of triple-somersaulting flyers. He named Burt Lancaster's character, Mike Ribble, Clarke, Concello, Codona, Seigrist, and Amadori. Great credit is due Liam O'Brien, who cleverly adapted the storyline from Max Catto's dark novel, THE KILLING FROST. The screenplay we see was crafted by James R. Webb, Wolf Mankowitz, and co-producer Ben Hecht. To research and include Amadori's name is among the reasons TRAPEZE is, for my tastes, the most faithfully written circus picture. The Amadori letterhead depicts Genesio's triple. Codona himself predicted this young star would be named the next king of flying acts. Only a year after Codona's death, Amadori died on November 22, 1938, in Liege, Belgium, of a broken spinal cord after a bad fall to the net. He was only 25.
Hi,
My name is Mike Jackson and I live in Sweden. My mother is the daughter from Genesio Amadori. He died when my mother was two years old. Genesio had a relationship for several years with Mary Jackson, who is my grandmother. I do not know anything about the Amadori family and would appreciate if somebody knows anyone from the Amadori family. We also worked in the circus but I have finished several years ago ( I am 45). My brother still travels with his swedish circus. Please if somebody knows anything about the Amadori family do not hesitate to take contact with me. My mail is:

In 1932-33 (do not know the exact days) Amadori family were performing in Kiev, Ukraine (Soviet Union by that time). They rented a room in the apartment of my grandmother and grandfather not far from the circus. Genesio, Ginevra, their father, Joffre, and Cary Amadori, their stepmother, lived with them. My mother was 16, she was very beautiful, and Genesio was about 20. He fell in love with her and learned a few words in Russian. He told her "you are beautiful, I love you." Life in the USSR was very hard back then - hunger and Cary helped my family with food a little. Mom all her life recalled a handsome gymnast, about whom she had never heard anything again. It’s good that she never knew about his death and until the end of her days he remained a wonderful Romeo for her, who gave counter-marks on performances and glorified her from the trapezium so that all the spectators turned and looked at her.
