Milwaukee lakefront, 1938, the area between the art museum and Summerfest grounds, C&NW station and coach yards would be to the right.

This is Friday July 29, 1938 on the Milwaukee lakefront.

The circus is Al G. Barnes-Sells Floto with RBBB features.

The loaded flat at the bottom of the photo, the one with the vertical side ribs, is a Barnes Mt Vernon car and is painted orange. Next to it is a Warren built RBBB flat painted silver.

Out on the lot, the menagerie tent is up. The big top center poles are being erected, the 4th pole being raised.

Isn't anyone going to mention the Curtis cages that Terrell had been allowed to pick out in Peru for his act? That three-arched cage at the bottom of the pic is a prime example.
