I saw the show in Evansville tonight and it was a great show that would rival the Detroit, Texas dates, and such of the 70's and 80's. And those pan light did the job they needed to do. Paul Kaye brough in a bunch of other lighting as well as using six house follow spots but there were no cumbersome quartz lights on poles on the floor nor electric cords running everywhere. RBBB may have millions of dollars worth of fancy automated lights that still leaves the acts in the dark but I could see everything in this show

Jimmy,
It's encouraging to know that some traditions will never change. The pan light lives!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Where's Chic when you need him? He could tell us how this was made and how many of them his has in his warehouse! ~frank
To FRANK F.
Nobody can replace Chic, but let me share this with you.
I have several pan lights in my warehouse. The late and wonderful Carl Stephens made them for me.
Visualize the classic old "wash tub" with giant light bulbs inside them.
The beauty of the pan lights is that they leave NO shadows and cover the whole ring. Unlike a lot of the fancy high dollar "cutting edge" lights.
As you know, you can then supplement the pan lights with spots and ring lights.
Leave it to Chic to go to Korea where all the action is.
When he gets back we'll have to compare notes.
I understand that they have asked him to be the moderator at the peace accords. I'm uncovering our old bomb shelter as we speak! ~frank
