The trainers pictured are Mike Kostial Jr. on the left and Ben Fridrich on the right. Ben would have followed Leon Smith who was terminated at the end of 1945 season. Mike was the son of the Zoo's cat trainer, Mike Kostial Sr., and had presented small acts at the Zoo since 1937. After his Army stay he joined Ben as a co-trainer. Ben left the show in 1956 (not his idea) but stayed at the Zoo until the late 1960s as a keeper.

The ponies in the show began with Leon Smith including the "table changes" were the ponies run underneath the table and one chimp jumps off and another chimp jumps on.
