What year was this photo taken, Buckles.

2005.

Smokey once said, "Do you realize we are talking about something that happened 20 years ago?"
We thought about that for a while.

I am now perilously close to showing pictures with a half-century mark.

Would this be Stella in 1965?

Cute photo but what caught my eye was the elephant’s eye. Eyes on the side of the head would explain one of the reasons why in my short, intense, ride adventure that George, Mudo, my pet Rebecca always knew where and who I was. I’m sure I brought entertainment to their hum drum lives with them pulling all the old tricks on the new guy: A tail in the face “what are you going to do short guy?” Their peripheral vision must be 360 degrees with a slight turn of the head. That accounts for the way stage right and stage left could be so quickly and precisely packed with pachyderm before the endless cross mount back at the park in Florida. Birds, fish, snakes, insects, and I’m sure a host of other creatures share this enhancement, are they the last survivors from a prehistoric age? Are we?

Hi Buckles,
I don't know if you remember me, this is John Newburn and I worked with you in the late 60's when you were on James Bros Circus. I quit working with elephants in the early 80's. Since then I have been trying to locate all of the elephants that I worked with to see how they are and if they are close enough go and see them. I have not been able to locate Winky, Stormy or Ellie that was at Warner Bros Jungle Habitat in the mid 70's and the last time I heard anything about them, I worked with them at Lion Country Safari in Grand Prairie Texas in 1977. I was under the impression that IAE owned them. Do you or anyone else know where they are at? I sent an email to IAE but did not get response. I am in Oklahoma now.
