next photo shows the same getup

Chic,
This is in fact Trevor Bale. I have this photo autographed by Trevor. He signed it when he was on the Beatty -Cole show.
All three presenters in 1956 wore the same costume. Trevor Bale, Paul Fritz and Albert Rix.

Dom,
That's sound's like the only democratic way to do it. If one is going to look goofy, they all have to look goofy. They were probably saving to enlist the service's of a better photographer. This guy seem's to have snapped the photo just as the tiger either didn't sit up or was on it's way down, and Trevor turned to look at it. Back of heads does make it harder to identify someone. Probably the same guy who take's the press photo's for a Shrine circus program. Isn't Paul Fritz Rudy(Pinky)Delmonte's kin?

It's all coming clear to me now

The haze is slowly lifting

(haze is how I make a living)

Thanks Dom

(maybe the same design but not

likely the same size)

Trevor has a gun belt on and his boots have gold or silver on the tops, the other photo has red trim.

Mr. North's New York influences resulted in fuschia tiger props and still more examples of wardrobe that had to embarrass the performers. North was not alone in this--I saw Hubert Castle dress certain acts in costuming that humiliated them. One man was made to look so ridiculous, he was laughed at in the backyard and went into the ring dispirited, and feeling like a fool. No matter who the boss is, or what show he owns, there are times you say no. Hubert insisted my wardrobe resurrect Damoo Dhotre and you can guess how far that went.

That extra gaffing on the chair legs is rather curious.

Three & a half points Gary

Nice catch on the boots

Why you concentrating on costumes guys?
Look at the chair. I wonder if it was ever touched during the act. Looks heavy as hell. Dennis Younger

Yup that does appear to be a

larry reinforceing band on the

legs of the regulation chair

I'm sure Roger (& a few others)

well remember the adding of angle

brackets & assorted hardware to

Beatty's many bentwood chairs

What is that rail or spar on the

ground that his right foot is on

Might it be a spacer or spreader

Or maybe a tiger walking beam

Chic,
That is a 2 X 4 for the tigers to lay down and put their front feet on so they know where to lay, and to stay without blowing. SOP in some circles. Or steel bound den's of fury, if you will.

Thanks Wade as I don't recall

such a device used in that way
