Chic, With Ringling's system of hanging it from 4 points, they got closer to it hanging level, then Hawthorn ever did, hanging it from a central point, with a bale ring and a spider. It was their "frame" that allowed that, something that was not available to Hawthorn on Shrine Dates. The worse drop always occurs at the three "section" area at the back, as the top ring is not attached to it, and tension from the hang cables pulls it up and away. Wade
Blowing the picture up as much as I could, I think that you're right about it being Ben, he's holding a bull hook. And the elegantly clad gentleman in the lower right hand corner of the picture should be Buckles. ~frank
Chic, Do you suppose it was totally dependent on when Buckles ally hupped then into the long mount and Barbara got set for her "moment"? Or maybe they were getting ready to pull the iggy and come down early, and they had to take the shot as it was. LOL I guess Buckles would know for sure. Wade

In several of these similar shots
I only wished that the top ring
of the mesh arena was leveled
(I know... what ring)

I've seen a couple of those single
haulaway pullups & the worst is
when the loft block is off center
In regards to this photo the issue
was that it was taken during the
setup of the arena & didn't take
that background into consideration
A few moments more & it might be
leveled out (trying to keep time
short between shows the arena was
started at the end of finale)
This was during the taping for
the "Highlights" TV show
Looks like Ben just in front of the camera guy on the floor by the cage? Another 10 feet and me and Camel John would of been in the shot too! :)

I can't believe Barbara, standing on top of a MOVING elephant, and wearing HIGH HEELS!
Strong ankles and great balance!
I'm sure you are correct Wade
The arena setup would not have
been part of their thoughts
Only 2 or 3 detail oriented
fussbudgets (including me)
would even take notice
(maybe 5 or 6)
