Rick Pfening just reminded me that today is John Robinson Day.

Happy Sept One.

Dave,
I have the banners from RBB&B from 1952 as well as posters and they all say "Greatest Show on Earth" Sept 1. Goes along with GSOE cept one and that's John Robinson.

Bob: What interesting items.

I was asked awhile back to talk to a luncheon group about the circus and I just printed up a piece of paper saying "Greatest Show on Earth Sept 1" in big letters to show as I was telling the story. A poster dated like this would have been better of course.

The first year I was out (Famous Cole) I saved a 1-sheet date of May 1.

The Worlds Greatest Shows. That was the Ringling sub-title. Guess there were no concerns about "intellectual property rights" then.

But, it just two years the Rinbglings would lease the 4-3-2-all-in-1 enterprise for a season.
