From Chic Silber #4

This clock was a Christmas gift from Irvin

likely to have been early 80s but I"m sure

some historian will correct me

This is in my N Y office along with much

other show stuff both theater & circus

Buckles,
I have the etched tumblers and the Siegfried and Roy towel. Then Irvin died, and a can of caramel and cheeze corn became the standard. The can could be used as a nifty garbage, as it fit under a 5th wheel kitchen sink nicely. What will you take for the "Gunther portrait?"

The portrait was done by that well known artist Novarro? who also did the program cover and insert.
For some reason that only an Analyst could explain he envisioned Gunther with child-bearing hips.
Out of respect for the Gebel family I have kept it in seclusion.

I was never a fan of Novarro so

I gave that away (sorry Wade)

His program book cover was awful

The Tiger mirror is the best of it

& it's in our front room with the

few other "allowable" show stuff

Buckles,
Maybe he was depicting GGW in a pair of spangly jodhpurs. Kinda an old with the new kinda deal. It has to be better then the poster where he has his hands on his hips ala "Superman" in a blue vest barely covering his Hulk physique.

In 79 when we opened the Monte

Carlo Tour we got a similar clock

with the show logo on it's face

Fortunately I was paroled before

the style of gifts changed

I still have the Lou Jacobs clock and it still works. Also a 100th Anniversary wrist watch, made from a silver commemorative coin, that doesn't work.

The great Strobridge tiger mirror is proudly displayed over my living room fireplace. A prized possession.

Hated the Gunther "portrait" and tossed it years ago.

Threw out the candy corn too.

I've got the coin in a plastic

case but I didn't rate the watch

Back then I must have been on the

"B" or more likely the "C" list

There were worse lists to be on

Irvin, very generously, always gave me a very substantial cash bonus every Christmas.

I say that with all modesty and with great appreciation!

I have a 3ft framed mirror numbered on the back of Lou Jacobs. Also has Ringling on it. Love to find a collector to give me a price of what it could be worth.

I saw a couple of what you are

likely to be mentioning in the

Ollie's Hamburger chain years

ago but was never able to track

them back to their source

When they shut down the joint

next to our hospital it was gone

Please send Buckles a photo &

I'm sure he will post it for a

hefty commision
