1969 RBBB #3

1969 RBBB-3, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Here are three of the four characters that the Felds tried to promote as the new symbols of the RBBB Circus. I think their names were “Ring,” “Ling,” “Baby Barnum” and Bailey something or other. There was even talk about them having their own Saturday morning cartoon show. After a season or so, they disappeared without a trace.

Did it take a full season for them to disappear? ~frank

I'm surprised to see these characters on the Red Show.
Since their logos were placed on Blue Show equipment (we had one on our elephant trapping wagon)I had always assumed their brief careers were confined to the Blue Unit.

Frank,
It seems the disappeared faster then the rock group, "NMotion" did in 1986.

Didn't they debut when Mattel got involved? I was under the impression that they were to be a tie-in between RBBB and Mattel.

Yeah Jeff... and Irvin bought all the toys back at less than ten cents on the dollar just a short while later. ~frank

Wade,

The Ringling-sponsored soft rock group, The Klowns, didn't last very long either. They had an album and a TV special in 1970, partially filmed on the show in San Diego, with Sammy Davis Jr. as the host. But that was pretty much their entire career.

A notable alumnus of the group is Barry Bostwick, a well-known actor on stage and film. He most memorably portrayed "Brad" in the classic cult movie, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Damn, I'm getting old. NMotion was with Ringling in 92, and left in 93. Geez.
