Do you remember where you were 65 years ago today?

The Cole show train was late getting in and it was around noon before they started unloading.

There were still some system flats and a number of wagons that had just been rebuilt after the train wreck in Minnesota. After the elephants were unloaded, one of the big top crew said "here de come, here come de big boys now" a qoute which I'll never forget.

The matinee was at 4:30 due to the late arrival. Your dad, my dad and Joe Taggart sat in Joe's old Lincoln going thru a box of circus paper that the Colonel had just picked up.

That was V-J Day in Beloit Wis, August 14, 1945.
