From Rick Pfening

Buckles: Fred D. Pfening Jr., editor of Bandwagon and my dad, has had a rough four weeks. He suffered a mild heart attack about a month ago and a week ago today (Wednesday) he broke his hip. He made it through hip surgery, and is now in a rehab facility doing physical therapy. He's in good spirits all things considered. Any operation is tough when your're 85 years old.
I know he would love to hear from all his friends in the circus community. His email is fpfening@pfening.com and snail mail can be sent to Fred Pfening, 1075 W. Fifth Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43212.
Hearing from his circus friends will brighten his day. Thanks, Fred Pfening III

We are so very sorry to hear of dear and respected Fred's travails.

Keep the wagons rolling Fred and forget the aerials, stick to your superb ground act. (lol)

Seriously, you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Heal fast heal well.

Rick,

Got an email off to your dad tonight and will get a snail mail card out tomorrow.

Please give him my very best wishes. Sorry I'm not closer to come by for a personal visit.

Sincerely,

Jack

Rick: Your dad owes me a continuation of that interview that we began two years ago. Let's do it before Thanksgiving. And please pass along my wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of the problems of long time friend Fred. Since my early beginnings in this biz. Fred has been a part of what happens. His knowledge of the past history and his right up to date happenings in our biz. is amazing. He knows everyone [or about them] from the main Gee to the ever present Gazoonie. Get well dear friend. You are truly one of a kind with your extreme dedication and your love of "your Book". Sincerely to one of the real "good guys" from Johnny Herriott
