Hi Buckles I'm a real big circus fan and a fan of the history of circuses my question is towards the ringling brothers and Barnum and bailey circus .Are there any information on if they did have 5 to 7 rings during its time under the big top in the early 1900's up to the 1950's.Buckles do you know if Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus really did have 5 to 7 rings ? Would you know when they did have 5 to 7 rings? I'm also sending an old newspaper ad from a real newspaper that appeared on Prince Edward island in 1864 . The ad was for Slaymaker and Nichols Olympic Circus .It appeared on PEI around the time of the confederation of Canada Anyway i hope this ad can be something that you can add to your blog since i find your blog one of the best when it comes to old circus photos and history Andrew Wightman |

I'm not familiar with size of the Ringling big tops in the early 1900's.
In later years, seven act displays were commonplace in a tent with six center poles, 3 rings and 4 stages.
A stage added on each end between the center pole and first row of quarter poles.
Barnum & Bailey had an eight pole big top for a while affording a lot more room for a seven act display.
