Conductor Richard Whitmarsh's " "Sounds of the Circus" recently issued volume 47 includes an elephant number "written especially for the movie, not the music played in the actual performance," notes Richard E. Schneider, historian for Whitmarsh's South Shore Concert Band of East Bridgewater, MA. Composer of the movie tune was Victor Young. -- Bill Hall
