This is at the Fairgrounds in Gainesville, FL. As the show was setting up, a city official informed circus management that there would be a seperate extra fee for each tent they set up.
Only the big top and animal awnings went up that day. No Marquee, and no cook house tent.

I knew it was just a matter of time until those Chicago "policies" would spread all over the country.

I spent the day, yesterday at the show, in Brooksville. Desent crowds for both shows. Am on the way back to Brooksville, this morning. I was treated to a WONDERFUL steak dinner, by Barbara and Gary Byrd last nite and if I am lucky, that may happen again today.

This really sucks.

I was on one struggling show that folded when the authorities demanded more that the wagon could stand.

I spoke with another show owner last week that had been dinged by the Health Dept. Building codes inspector, Fire and Police as well as Lot and Licence in the same town. These little towns are broke and looking for every dime they can turn.

I saw the same thing this year close to Whitehouse, Texas when Kelly Miller had to move to another lot and they had paid in that town but another so called offical came up to Tavana and tried but with no luck.
Also Bridge City, Texas cops many years ago got Wayne Frazen for about $150 shake down.
What a world we live in now all with there hands out for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
