Al G. Barnes back yard #10

You may notice that the Barnes Show (as well as Sparks)
pulled wagons on the way to the lot in the morning.
On the theory that there was no need going empty handed.
As long as you are headed that direction take a wagon.

The labors would have kept the animals healthy, filled their mind with a task and thereby perhaps kept them in line. It was also a demonstration in the street of the strength of the beasts, going beyond just witnessing their great bulk, peculiar odor, shuffling and rumbling, etc.
