oldest showgirl on the show at the time and still beautiful. she still Was climbing the web and doing all of the dancing. She was french and just a great lady
Mitch, How are you doing? How old was she? I was told one time by a show girl named Kitty that she didn't get a contract because she was 25 and Ringling wouldn't hire anybody over 25. I thought that was wrong because I remembered a girl on the Blue show named Margaret, who was still there in her 30's and looked great. Wade
While in rehearsals our first year on the Blue Show, Barbara and I were called up in the office for a some sort of meeting. While we were waiting we could hear Charly inside talking to Mr. Feld and the subject of my wife's age came up. Charley said, "She has to be 40!" Later after we had completed our business and were leaving Barbara said, "By the way Mr. Feld, tell Charly I'm 44."
Gary, Thanks for pointing that out, because that was the other alibi besides the age of 25. Only if you knew somebody or were married/sleeping with somebody important would you be given a contract over the age of 25. LOL Wade
When I started on the show there where several woman showgirls that where around the 40s. In the ring the all looked great because the knew how to use there make up. Mitch I have to correct you, Vicky wasn't french she was south American, I believe from Chile, my first girlfriend on the show was french, Lea Chamberty. After my second year on the show most of the older girls lost there job and I had to start looking for younger ones

Believe it or not I think at least in her 40's. I remember it was a big deal.

We all know Charly's wife was over 25!

And to Wade: the ability to keep a 18 year old boyfriend
HENRI,
I remember that Mademoiselle Lea
taught you a lot of French.
Au revoir.
