Roberts Bros. Circus #1 (From Buckles)

Scan12590, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

We were showing Hanover, New Hampshire with Big Apple when early one morning Covington and I decided to drive down to Springfield, Vermont to watch Roberts Bros. Circus set up. I can't remember the year, maybe Don can, it was in the late 90's.
Approaching the lot we pulled over and took a few pictures, I hope his turned out better than mine.

A fine small show playing small town America on the East Coast. Contributed greatly to the communities they played. The Earls were always friendly and friend Frank Felk enjoyed his second career tremendouly.

I'll have to search for my photos of the visit. I remember the lot was at a ski resort not far from Hanover. The show was laid out in the parking lot using all available space. The steep, winding, access road must have been a challenge for show drivers, though I hear that Roberts Bros. had many similarly challenging locations on its tour. This one was definitely scenic, particularly at the peak of summer in New Hampshire's Connecticut River valley.
