The above two photos show Mabel in her favored 26" boots.

I have the whip seen in a 1936 photo of Mabel standing at the steps of her dressing wagon, on the Barnes show. This may be the lash, since a good lash should be a friend for life, but this shot is not well focused on it and I'm not sure. Seen here is a twisted stock, not the solid stock I have from the '36 photo. Over time, Mabel was torn up so badly she could no longer swing a lash whip. In my time with her, she carried a Hope, Arkansas hickory pole in her left hand, and a regular 6' buggy whip in her right. These she gave to me on the last day of her career, Friday, November 10, 1967, when Okie Carr and I moved her from her Compound dressing room to her home.
