Bill Johnston and I were sorting through my trunks of photos, when he looked at one of Mabel and mused, "...She was never a beauty." In this shot, with ideal lighting for her, and a good angle, Mabel is as pretty here as I've ever seen her photographed. If not a beauty, she was referred to as a handsome woman.
