Every flier before him was compared to Alfredo Codona, every flier after him strives to live up to his quality, control and grace. Tito now runs a trapeze school. (titogaona.com) is the website. What a wonderful family! ~frank

I remember him catching his 1st

triple in a practice between

shows in Philly with Beatty

when Victor was catching in

the very early 60s

I believe his family was the 1st

to use shock cord reavings on the

net spreaders to allow return

from the pedestal dismount to

the catch bar which Tito turned

into an art form (since copied)

Copied but never duplicated! They lack the grace, charisma and style that Tito had. ~frank

I was announcing a series of Shrine dates (no names) and a flying act would inform me prior to the first show of a three show day that they were not going to do the triple, just finish with the passing leap.
I mentioned this to the producer, who couldn't care less.
Feeling the audience was slighted and the act was getting away with one, I took the flyer to the side and confided, "Tito never cut the triple on a three show day," with a wink.
Since that little talk the triple was never cut again.

The producer still didn't care.
Pity.

Frank I think the epitome of

grace & charisma was that sh-t

eating grin spread across his

face each time he landed back

on the catch bar
