Pablo Noel #11

. . . ending up in one of traveling cages.

In 1972, Bill Pruyn was still the Blue Unit’s bandleader-on-tour. He picked out some particularly good music for Pablo’s act: “Cyrus the Great” by Karl L. King, “The Egyptian March” and “The Persian March” (both by Strauss), and the Ballet Music from Verdi’s opera “Aida,” among others. (The Aida arrangement was later reused for Barbara, Ben and Anna May on the 108th Edition.)

One part was left out! Wasn't it Jimmie Brisco who then paraded around the track with a stuffed lion draped over his shoulders to much applause? Great follow up to a good act.

Dick,
Wasn't that the follow up to the great Wolfgang Holtzmeirs act?

It did indeed follow Wolfgang Holtzmeir's act. Bill Pruyn even used the same piece of music for the gag lion that had been played when Wolfgang stood with the real lion on his shoulders. (I think it was the theme from QUO VADIS.)
