This is my uncle Chester Dolphin, who was a juggler and performed with his talented wife Charmon Dolphin. My Father helped his two brothers in making props, the unicycle the globe etc. They both started out in Worcester, Massachusetts and traveled the world. They were both in military service and in Weisbaden, Germany. It is through my uncles and of course from my own Father that got me interested in the circus when I was very young. collecting circus posters of Ringling coming to Boston Garden and also becoming friends of Father Ed Sullivan who was Circus chaplain and had residence near my home parish of Sacred Heart in North Quincy, Massachusetts. Father was at Star of the Sea Parish in Squantum, Mass. My Father wanted to follow the same profession as my uncles but my Mother from Ireland, wanted to stay at home and raise a family. Both of my uncles didn't have any children.
These photos I found the other day in my collection and so I want to share them with you.

From Bob Good: Old time juggler and friend, Billy Tirko, used to love to talk about Chester. He said he was a fine juggler and handbalancer. The free headstand trick with all the rings is a beauty. |
