I believe Ringling clown Bobby Kay worked at Ciro's and had a hand in putting together many of the circus themed events there. He used to talk about it occasionally. Ciro's is now Mitzi Shore's 'The Comedy Store.'

So that's what's in the old Ciro's. What a place it was in its day. Thanks, Clownron. What now occupies the Mocambo, Perino's, and Chasen's? Anyone know?

The Comedy Store was refurbished into the old Ciro's for one night hosting Sammy Davis, Jr.'s wedding reception to Altovise Gore. (Altovise died earlier this year from stroke complications, still owing over $2 million in back taxes from Sammy's estate.) ~frank

The Mocambo closed in 1959. The site is now a parking lot.
Perino’s Luxury Apartments is located on the site of the former Perino’s Restaurant. The original Chasen's was torn down to make room for a two-story shopping center. How did the song go? "Forget paradise and put up a parking lot!" :-)
