Hi Buckles ; I love These Cannons ; there such an Unusual Take to Entertaining Folks - esspecially IN The Old Tents , with the Center & 1/4 Poles , ALL the ole' Hemp Ropes & all the various Rigging Lines going This Way & That , the Many Interesting Knots , Props , Grass Floor etc., etc. Here's a Couple of the 3 Ft. X 7 Ft. Black & White Paintings I did in 1991 of " MY " CANNON ACT ; The PIGGYBACK DUO are Shot Out , Flying Across the 3 Ring Arena from Ring 1 to Ring 3 , Bouncing off of the Targets Bulls Eye on the Ground ( from the Big Spring on His Belt ) , Up Into the Hands of the Catcher - VIOLA ! as Myself & Mark Anthony are in the b-b-bbackground T-Tracksssside . ( P P Pardon My Studdering - I'm Exc c cited ) When Jimmy James Introduced Mr. Bales Cannon on the CBCB Show 1996ish his Low Voice & Style helped Build the Dramaic Flavor & Excitement Very Well . I like there New Tent a Lot ( but I Miss the Ol'e Tents Visual Atmousphiere Even More ) Helping Keep the Past & Dreams Alive the Budafo o o oon |

As a young guy we went to see Clyde Beatty Cole Bros in 1961 and the show ended with Capt. Astronaut. I had never seen a cannon act before that.
Well the ringmaster built up the excitement in the act and teh band was going strong for the build up.
I was on the edge of my seat.
I was wondering how a man could be shot from a cannon through all those poles and rigging.
With a very loud boom and out the barrel comes Capt. astronaut flying for the net. And he made it.
I remember the tent bellowing out as the cannon exploded.
I still remember all the excitement till this day.
I talked to Munoz Jr. in later years and you know there are many stories that goes with the cannon.
One place they played someone put too much gun powder in and when the cannon exploded it blew stuff off the shevels in the dresing room. Coming in to another town they got a police escort as they thought it was a real cannon.
In Alaska with Gopher the paper ran a picture of munoz Jr. stuck in the cannon half in and half out.
Such is the life of a cannoner.
