I could write a book here of Kind Words & Praise attributed to the one & only ;
" Captain Freddy Logan "
( and I was merely an Annual Aquaintance )
He & the Logan Family Entertained Large Circus Audiances for Decades & Under the Grand Ole' Traditional American " BIG TOPS "
What a way to start the day off with Fred Logan and family with these fantastic bunch of photos.
He was a great elephant trainer and presenter and when you walked on a circus lot he knew you by name and the jackpotts started.
Even though Fred and Ora are gone they live on through his great family.
They remain in the circus business and are in a class by themselves.
If Fred was here to see Vicenta on Ringling and Freida and her family on Circus Pages, they carry on a long tradition of class, and he would so proud of them.
Fred gave me one of those Beatty Cole elephant head pieces I have in my collection.
Gone but not forgotten and a great friend for many years.
Harry
He had the fastest elephant act in show biz and the only world famous walking long mount--a site to behold! Gold bles 'em...a terrific showman
Jerry,
It has been discussed in the past on this blog, but there have been a number of walking long mounts. Axel had a backward walking long mount, but the GSOE chose not to use it. I watched him practice often in the back yard.

Axel did use the backwards walking longmont on the show,I had talked to Sunny Riddle about this quite often while we were on the blue show.they wanted us to do the backwards thing like Axle did ,and there were many meetings on this matter.I also saw film footage of them on the show.GREAT STUFF.
Randy
Buckles, thank you for the great set of one my favorite persons!
Randy,
I understood that they only used it once or twice at dress rehearsal before it got axed, and I understood because of time restraints. Axel kept rehearsing it in the back yard on the thoughts that it would be used one day. But it never was. A shame. I had only been on the show a week, the first time I saw it. I was sitting in my trailer as the elephants forward long mounted past. All of a sudden they came back past the window in reverse. No way, I thought as I jumped up to go outside. Sure enough. That's when Axel mentioned that he had trained it a number of years prior and never got to use it.
