Most all Mack Sennett comedies -- and CIRCUS TODAY is no exception -- feature a frantic chase which culminates in something or someone going over a steep cliff. In this case, the chase occurs at about the film’s mid-point and ends up destroying a cage wagon. (This shot of the wrecked wagon goes by so quickly that few audience members probably noticed the little in-joke that the Sennett staff managed to slip in to delight their boss.) |
