"Tusko" #4

This is a tiny photo that I have passed over for years. On enlargement I see that someone had identified both elephants.
Certainly wasn't my dad, to him writing on the face of a photograph was sacrilegious.
On the other hand I can envision somebody with a camera sending this to a friend on another show saying, "Look at the size of these guys!"

Great pic despite the writing.

The pair that I would have liked to see photographed together was Major and Safari. Had Major not died I imagine Cole Bros would have featured them together in their publicity: a giant male Asian and an African, until the pygmies were imported the only African then with an American show.

Great photo. Do you have an estimated year/location, etc., that this photo of Tusko was taken?

They were only together on the show two seasons 1928 and 1929.
