Photos from the 109th Edition’s gypsy-themed elephant number. (The one end ring would have looked pretty empty without that little gypsy wagon seen earlier out in the backyard.) Bill Pruyn worked a lot of familiar gypsy music into score including excerpts from Monti’s “Czardas,” an excerpt from one of Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsodies,” “Dark Eyes,” “Romany Life” (Victor Herbert), and “Play Gypsies, Dance Gypsies” (Kalman) among others.
