For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Blackpool Tower Circus I add these comments. This year 2009 it is celebrating 115 years continous seasons. Not even two world wars disrupted this record. The summer season runs from March to November - possibly the longest season in the same venue with the same programme. It also has a short Christmas season with a pantomime/circus and another short season in February during a local festival.
The sinking ring dates from 1894 and is still in daily use for up to 400 performances per year for the water finale.

A venue well worth a visit
