STEVENS BROS. CIRCUS 1946

FRONT ENTERANCE, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Buckles,

Would you like me to scan and send pictures, or print them out and send by mail ? I probably have about 40 pictures of Stevens Bros, and most of the people on them are identified. Also have 5 or 6 route cards from the 1946 tour with Bob Stevens. I could send 5 or 6 at a time, so the file would not be too large.

Hope you can use them to post on your Blog. Hoping to hear from you.

Just great Sonny and brings back wonderful memories of Leo Albright and family from Belle Plain, Minnesota. I remember it well when my Dad and Leo had contact over those years. I recall my Dad and Leo doing a run of Xmas shows together. Believe you were along. I remember your dads pick out barking dog and him doing the wire act. Never fails over the years when driving to and from St. Peter to the Cities on 169 when we saw the Belle Plain water tower alone on the plain and always recall Leo Albright. Note that we always said or used Albright and note tou use Albrhect. Seems like your Dad was part of a show with Art Mix under canvas that went broke. Great memories. Wonder if you remember me as a little kid.

I see photo of Betty Jean Pratt which would lead me to believe that her father Vernon Pratt was a partner with Little Bob. Yes, like Buckles I remember Bob's mother "Mud" and would say he was a great son as he always had Mud with him. Quite a GUY AND BRINGS MEMORIES OF EX wife Ione. Great American circus history, Bob Grubb, the Fullers, Etc. Will look forward to more. Thanks, Johnny.

Yes, Milt Herriot and my father, Leo Albrecht, did a few seasons of Christmas promotions. I do remember Johnny Herriot as a kid. You do have a good memory, remembering the Art Mix times.During WW2, with the war with Germany, my dad changed to "Albright" It was easier to pronounce, and less German.

Sonny you wouldn't happen to have any photos of my grandmother Clara Stevens, Bob Stevens wife?

Thanks to all who had kind remarks about my dad Robert A. (Little Bob)Stevens. Many thanks also who helped Amgela find me. Her dad was Clara's (the only mom I ever knew)son. Even though we bonded, he died of cancer b/f I got to Montana to see him. Needless to say last year was wild. I understand I have an older half brother, and would like to have info on Stevens Bros. 1947 season.
Many thanks, Kathleen

Was Shirley Stevens Big Bob Stevens daughter?
She was my Mother in-Law and used to talk about him frequently. I am researching her and Johnny A. Gutierrez's life as he was with the Gutierrez Family Circus when they met. Any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
