Frank, Larible wore a RED vest. No similarity whatsoever.
Credit where credit is due... Jose' is one of the funniest guys I've seen in a long time. The crowds love him.
I totally agree with you Bob, his facial expressions are some of the best I`ve seen. My grandkids laughed at him more than any they have seen, and I`ve taken them to 5different circuses this year.
Point well taken, Bob & Hal. My point was that when anyone with a circus background sees him, the first thing they think is "David Larible" and not "Jose Ayala".
Some good advice that I received from Bill Balentine, "Create a character that is uniquely YOU. Copy someone else, even a little bit, and the audience will think of the original and not you."

Frank, I know what you are saying and that`s true. I`ve had people that have no circus knowledge look through some of my old photos and think that Otto Greibling is Emmett Kelly, simply because Emmett was more publicised I guess. Annyway Lewis & Clark Circus plays small rural towns, I probably think 99 out of 100 of the people there do not even know who David Larible is and have probably never seen a Ringling Show or any other circus for that matter. That`s not saying that any clown should not develop their own character, But Jose`s act is nothing like David`s. Another thing that bothers me is people that call a circus a carnival and vice virsa, that annoy`s the Hell out of me, just venting a little this morning, guess I`m a little POed at our Gov, you know the Argentine Casanova.
