Thanks Buckles - - Old Tony did have one of the best collections of wild animals on tour since W.W. II.
The small print at the bottom reads - - “Direct from Equatorial Rumuruti Africa and Kilimanjaro.”
Rumuruti is where Carr Hartley based his animal collecting operations. It is located in Kenya’s Rift Valley. Of course the famed Kilamanjaro sits in Tanzania (nee Tanganyika) very close to the border with Kenya.
I’ll have to get out my notes to see if Diano’s female black rhino “Molly” came from Carr Hartley. There was a good deal about his animal acquisitions in Billboard. Tony claimed she was in the movie “Snows of Kilimanjaro” but that needs verifying.
