The panel advertising the large ape probably represented the huge orangutan the circus exhibited that year in the sideshow. By this time it was unusual for RBBB to have exotic animals in the side show rather than in the menagerie. Perhaps the animal was owned and exhibited by an independent side show contractor under a special arrangement with RBBB?
