I wonder if they'll also have
the inside ticket boxes for
upgrades after the fact
That was where Tommy Clark
doubled his salary (aside from
whatever the Blue Room was worth)

After reading the prior postings, and some of the other media, on this venture...I am really curious to see what the demand will be for a circus in Coney Island...especially for 10 weeks.
I am also interested in the target demographic that is being marketed. I would assume that most of the folks heading to Coney Island are now going for the beach and amusements. Most of those folks may go see a circus if it was a short, inexpensive show...an added bonus to their day. This is a full blown show, with pretty high gate prices...I am skeptical of the overall demand.
I wish them the best, and I look forward to hearing more about the experiences they will encounter.

It may become the thing to do during the summer for the New York crowd. But as for the average family it sure isn't the Cole show that was there two years ago!
If the demand for the Ringling show is so high, why doesn't it go back to the 8 weeks or more in the Garden. The Brooklynites can easily commute to the Garden from their homes because many of them do it on a daily basis going to work.
The people on Staten Island can board the ferry and hop on a subway and zip up to the Garden, too.
Bringing the show to the farthest tip of Brooklyn where the local demographics are less than ideal seems shaky. Maybe Ringling is just providing the show with a guarantee plus percentage. It doesn't seen like Ringling to be taking a big chance without a solid deposit into the bank. They aint worth 700 million by being careless. Crafty yes, careless no.
The Gold Unit is a less expensive version of Kaledioscape with about the same amount of success.
Probably at a meeting someone said, "Why don't we set that damn thing down someplace?" and Brooklyn and Italia were booked.
The good news is that by luck, the show will escape the Swine Flu epidemic in Texas.
The bad news is that rather than rent a tent from Tarzan or the Coronas they will have one shipped in from France and the seats from China thereby assuring a loss.
But I suppose with 700 mil, it's all a game anyway.
Heard that the new Carson and Barnes tent is FOR SALE due to lengthy set up time. The new tent will be used for California then the old tent will do a rise from the ashes.
Price is way north of a 1/4 million - large bills only, please.
Anyone else think Kenny's running this out as a loss-leader just like Kaleidescope after aquiring the assets of the now Feld Motor Sports...gotta take a loss somewhere on paper otherwise taxes will have to be paid and we know how certain companies hate to pay too much in taxes....lol
If something has to be run as a loss-leader why not reopen Clown College?
