Per Richard Weigl, the world expert, the longest lived orang was "Guas" who was 59 at death. He had been owned by Mademoiselle Rosalie Abreu who had a famous primate center near Havana.

In 1931 Abreu sold Guas to the Philadelphia zoo where he lived until 1977.
