The Ortons #7

In regard to Don's article above, this is Dutch with his second wife Dorie performing before British Royalty.
If I am not mistaken, the gentleman at left is Cyril Mills.

Dutch died accidentally at home in Dallas while practicing in the back yard when the pole collapsed. I was told that he escaped the fall but the rigging came down on top of him.

After the Bertram Mills engagement the Ortons toured the UK working at several agricultural shows. I met them in Aberdeenshire in Scotland.

I was told that when Orton passed on he was rehearsing a trio of sway poles that was provisionally booked for the Blackpool Tower Circus in England.

This is a great site.
