Capt, sorry to disagree but that is Rebecca in the photo.
Elephants got a lot of appreciation over at my blog, thanks to your reminder.
Peggy Williams got a little appreciation today also.

Sorry Gary,
I took this photo of Gilda
Garry Larry is right its gilda Clean Raul. ps.Larry i hope you are feeling better CleanRaul
You should be correct if you shot the photo? I need to check my photos of the herd? I remember Rebecca having a more triangular head than Gilda, as her's was more round? The eyes aren't as good as they used to be! :)
I remember Gilda as much rounder in head and body, than Rebeca.
If I remember correctly Rebeca was a "noodle nose"
Gilda was the first big elephant I worked on a ride. My very first big elephant experience was on Sells & Gray with this old elephant, named Bessie, teaching me how to work her, pulling stakes
Oh ! Oh !, I feel a story comin' on ! Quick, run for cover !
Very much off-topic, Id like to ask wether anyone can identify the elephant that escaped from Gran Circo Union and went out on the highway in Mexico City yesterday, and was killed by a bus.
Reports refer to two different names; Hilda and Indra. She is said to have been apr 40 years.
Heres one of the newsreports:

This is my individual file on her,
http://www.elephant.se/database2.php?elephant_id=4222
Heres the list I made so far about elephants at Gran Circo Union:
http://www.elephant.se/location2.php?location_id=725
(which probaly can be filled with many more elephants...)
At the same time Im also qurious if anyone knows where in Mexico Smahas elephant went?
regards,
Dan Koehl
