Since Dorothy would only be in town for a short time, her scenes were all filmed early in the production. Years later, the serial’s director William Witney recalled that she was a very nice person and an adequate actress. Dorothy was cast the role of Alice Brent, secretary to wealthy inventor Thomas Scott. Scott has perfected a revolutionary remote control device that can be used to fly airplanes, steer ships, etc. from long distances away.
