Robbins Bros. Circus 1949 #1

Scan10646, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

For some reason the title was changed to Robbins Bros. the year we were with it. In retrospect, it was probably due to the grift.
Three of the elephant's names are seen on the truck. That's our sleeper in the background.
Some of the other people on the show were the Silverlakes, Gladys Gillum cat act (Killum Gillum), Percy and Charlie Clarke comedy fencing act, Tex and Grace Orton and Jackie Tolliver aerialist.

The Robbins Bros title was used by Bob Stevens in 1949.

Others who used the title over the years - Fred Buchanan - 1924-31;
Jess Adkins and Zack Terrell - 1938;
Floyd King - 1949;
Jack Smith - 1965 - 66

There was also a "Famous Robbins" title and sometimes material using both titles was used on the same show.

Can somebody out there give a rundown on this other version?

I assume it started with Frank A Robbins and not Burr Robbins.

Also will somebody explain the Floyd King use in 1949?
