Thanks for the photos of Gossing. Where can I get more info on him.
I once watched his act in Milwaukee, outdoors and close-up. It was an intense act for sure. The viewer only relaxed when it was over. I imagine it was the same for Guy and his cats too. Dion
To Dion, you probably viewed the act at Milwaukee Summerfest. The circus was produced by L. N. Fleckles and later by Ron Kelroy.
Gossing was a friend I guess and would park out in Myakka I believe on the Hermann Ranch property, or maybe bought land from them, but I believe after the sale of his act he remained there. bHe never had a cage man-groom and he and his wife did it all. He bhad a very pronounced limp from some sort of accident. He would be one of those aCTS THAT was a little short on cages, etc. Not yje stretcdh bar routine, more common with lions. I believe he used the same props for both acts.
This stretched bar routine with the tigers reminds me of Eddie Schmitts performance.
Nice to see !
Johnny, Guy had a limp as one of his male tigers attacked him in his calf. That tiger was retired to Paul Kelly's(my g'Uncle)
WQ in Peru, In...not sure what happened to the tiger...I remember him being there for several years
