To Greg DeSanto

Scan10353, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

This is a relative of mine, Myron Orton, who clowned on the Ringling Show for many years up until they closed under canvas. His brother Gordon worked one of the show's liberty acts.
The clown in question on the Barber Shop float looks a bit like him but by 1951 he was probably too old to climb up there.
Since we both shared the same Orton disposition and sense of humor, I'm sure he was quite humorous.

Buckles,

Thanks for the personal attention in helping us clown ID-ers with the photos.

If this float featured Jung, then maybe he used one of the clowns whom he favored as the customer? I know he liked to work with the Nelson Bothers, Duane Thorpe, Myron Orton, Gene Lewis, Prince Paul, Owen McQuade & Freddie Freeman.

He worked much less with the Lou Jacobs, Felix Adlers and Paul Jeromes in clown alley.
