From Gary Payne

To all,
The ONLY way the extremists seem to be operating now is to attempt sneak attacks like this one. We have only 24 - 48 hours to make a difference. I believe this attached Email has all the information you will need.

The Massachusetts State Senate is debating the proposed state budget on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Senator Robert Hedlund has proposed an amendment (Number 305) which would enact the language of his previous bill to ban the use of legitimate elephant training tools (please see attached). If adopted, Amendment 305 would prevent circuses with elephants from visiting the state of Massachusetts.

We urge Circus Fans and other supporters in Massachusetts to contact your State Senator with phone calls or e-mails as soon as possible, and respectfully ask the Senators to OPPOSE Senator Hedlund's amendment. It is crucial that Senators hear from opponents of this legislation before the debates on Wednesday and Thursday. The roster of Massachusetts State Senators is located at http://www.mass.gov/legis/memmenus.htm, with links to e-mail and district information. You can also look up your State Senator by entering your home address information at http://www.wheredoivotema.com/bal/myelectioninfo.php, then scroll down to the person listed as "Senate in General Court."

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, and thank you for working to oppose this amendment!
