Does anyone remember this:

The Hodgini Family were from England and their real name was Hodges. The alteration of their name made them sound more "continental" in their native Merry Ole England.

The Hodgini family entered the business about 1848 as riders and toured England and then the continent after a decade, appearing before cronwed heads, etc. They started their own circus in 1874 primarily playing Germany, then returned to England in 1892 touring up to WWI as the Grand Star playing fairgrounds. One branch of cousins, Albert and Joe, came to the US, first for Thompson & Dundy in 1907, then for Ringling. By the late 1920s this internationally traveled family were full-dressed native Americans for their riding act on the 101 Ranch. One Hodgini was still living in Peru recently and some will remember Joe Hodgini who worked on Ringling (wardrobe, I believe) in his old age in the 1970s and lived close to 100 years.

And did you know that there also was a Hogini family [note slight spelling difference] in England whose original name was Hodgetts?
