Boy, do I remember this well. As a Chicago banker, I was in Omaha representing a foundation I managed, which had to donate all it's income on charities within the city. A local attorney and I had scheduled a meeting with the Episcopal Bishop and his Vicar to discuss our foundation's participating in a capital campaign to restore the local cathedral.

We were a little early, standing on the curb outside the cathedral when along comes the Tangier Shrine Temple parade to promote the opening of the Shrine circus that night. Bobby comes along on the golf cart escorting the elephants. Bobbie spots me on the curb and yells - "Goodall, grab your 'elephant guide' (politically correct description in 2008) and help take me take the girls back to the auditorium."

The attorney looked at me and said do you know that fellow on the golf cart with the elephants. I had to admit I did. A few minutes later we met the Bishop, who had been standing a few feet away, and he asked if I was the fellow who the elephant man was calling to. There I was totally undercovered in Omaha.

We had a good meeting and the attorney and the Bishop learned more about the circus and elephants than they had bargained for.

That night I went to the circus and Bobbie said, "I hope I didn't embarass you this morning. I thought you were standing there by yourself".

Another wonderful Bobbie Gibbs memory. I really miss him.
