The stanchions, the theatrical style ropes, the potted plants. Nice. Despite all the heat he carried, Wallace managed to keep his own name on the show for all but a couple of his many seasons and return to the same towns they'd looted before. Maybe he understood better than most that he could get away with a multitude of sins so long as he put on a really good circus. Bailey was "the genius" rivaled by the Ringlings only because there were so many o them. But Wallace wasn't far off the mark. Maybe because he was a rascal he's a little more interesting than W.W.Cole, or the Sells Bros, or the Robinsons, and slicker than 4Paw.
